Rocco's 10 months and Week Recap

Rocco is officially 10 months old!! I'm not quite sure how to celebrate 10 months since February cheated and only has 28 days so I guess I'm a bit late.

About me...
20lbs 5.6oz
31.25" (off the charts!)
7 teeth (3 bottom, 4 top)

Crawls all over the house, TROUBLE on all fours. Into everything now!

Standing up next to anything he can pull himself with and cruising around the furniture

Waving buh-bye, Clapping hands, Giving high fives on command
Opens and closes his hand when you say "Open and Close"

Still gets very worried when dogs bark

Loves...
Baths

Yelling and Squealing

Dancing to songs

Singing into the karaoke microphone, watching Lolo sing karaoke, and falls asleep to Daddy singing karaoke

Pretending to read books

Lola chasing him around with her monster noises

Crawling as fast as he can into the kitchen and makes a beeline for the dog food and water
FOOD.
Pretty much all food but only wants to feed himself.  We can not spoon feed him any longer.
Having better success with those squeeze tubes of baby food that he can feed himself with. Otherwise its whole fruits, veggies, beans, and tofu all day long for this boy.
Oh, and he love love loves grapes right now.

Plain and simple. This boy is into everything now. Huge difference from just two months ago. It's nuts!!

We are over here dreaming of warmer days to come.

It's moments like this that I want to remember forever.
Those long legs of his wobbling from object to object.

 Enjoying a lovely winter sunset

Just a little grin likes this just melts my heart

Had our 3 month follow up Cardiology appointment this week to check on little mans' heart. The echocardiogram showed a small amount of growth with his aortic root but not as much as in past visits. Hope we continue down this path to eventually show no growth or minimal growth as expected for children.
It was adorable watching him play with toys and other children in the waiting area. My boy is getting older. *tear.

Here's a little video I took with my cell phone yesterday.
He's gets so excited now when you say "Wanna take a bath?"
and loves to mimic your sounds. :)

Happy New Year & Rocco's 8 months

Happy New Year 2014!!

With the new year we bring along a mouthy 8 month old.

About me...
20 lbs
30"
3 teeth (2 bottom, 1 top)

Says mama & baba consistently

Shows off at the dinner table to his Lolo and his cousin Jared.

Flips the light switch off in his bedroom when we leave the room.

Mastered a fake choke, cough sound. (He's dramatic like his daddy)

Gets up on his knees and plays.  Getting close to crawling.
And he is even trying to pull up to standing position using the couch.

Hugs mommy tight when she is using the food processor.

Loves...
Baths. Squeals and wiggles his naked little body
out of our arms to get in the tub.

Drinking from his new sippy cups with the straw

Yelling

To play airplane with his Lolo, riding his new horsey his Lola got him for Christmas,
playing with Daddy, and hugging his Mommy at night.

Food! Wants whatever we are eating. You can't get anything passed him.
But we still feed him a lot of his baby foods and don't give him too much of what we are eating yet.  Maybe soon though.

 Our little ornery stud muffin

 His little smirk

We had an amazing holiday at home with family.  Rocco really seemed to enjoy opening presents and playing with his new toys.   We had a truly special first Christmas with him. He was amazing even with only a few naps in between.  He just loves everyone fussing over him.

This little boy is proving to be quite a little character. He watches everything we do, so I'm guessing now would be a good time to watch what we do too.  Can't wait to see what the upcoming months in 2014 bring.  We just hope for good health and happiness!!

Weekend Recap

Here are a few pictures of how our weekend went in the Hermogenes household. Baby feedings, pumpkin doughnuts, salt dough keepsakes, play time and bath time.

I can not get over how big our little baby is already, almost 6 and 1/2 months.  Sitting up all by himself without nose diving into the floor every other minute. However, instead of nose diving into the floor, now he nose dives onto the spoon.  You can't get the food in his mouth fast enough!

Daddy playing choo-choo train with baby food. Rocco readily anticipating.
(I need to post a video of this routine. It's just too cute watching them)

I'm getting the stare down because I've got the camera.  Oh, I was also busy making pumpkin doughnuts. He probably saw me tasting the batter.  You can not get anything by this boy. Seriously.

Here are my finished pumpkin doughnuts and doughnut holes.

Rocco playing on the floor with daddy and Dinky.  I think Rocco was pretending to be a bull.  All Dinky wanted was that little orange toy by Roc's foot.
Oh, please don't judge Roc's outfit, Daddy dressed him. ;)

Ooooh...nice doggy.  These two are still trying to figure each other out.

I have been wanting to make Salt Dough keepsakes of Rocco's not-so-little baby feet and hands.  I'm so happy I finally got around to making them.  They turned out great so far...still waiting for them to completely dry.

The hands were definitely not a one person job especially for my son.  But I just love this before moment between him and daddy.

My baby's beautiful handprints before I popped them into the oven to bake.

If anyone is interested in making salt dough keepsakes, ornaments, etc. Here is the recipe I used:

Belly time! Just trying to encourage a little bit of crawling. Rocco usually just looks like a fish out of water.  We will get there in due time.  But its fun watching him get excited.

Rocco and Sophia in between sneak-attack licks to the face.

Oh bath time, how we love thee...Rocco used to scream bloody freakin' murder at bath time in his first two months but now he can not get enough!

Of course Dinky is there to watch him the entire bath.  I believe Dinky was traumatized those first two months with Rocco screaming at bath time and now believes the bath is going to eat Rocco up.  He seriously will not leave his post on the side of the bathtub.

After bath.
This is our new "thing."  Putting his delicious toes in his mouth.
It's making diaper changing time hard however.

Oh, this is another new "thing" we are trying out this week.  We are using his bedside co-sleeper (that he never used but twice btw), and converted it to be used as a little play area for him, so I can attempt to get a few chores around the house completed.

So as you can see pretty much everything revolves around Rocco these days.  And it is so much fun!

A November Sunset

I've been a busy little bee today! Trying to get caught up on here.

Sipping a nice cup of sleepytime tea hoping it helps Rocco sleep better later on too.  Short end of long story. Baby boy is cutting teeth.  We do NOT sleep very well during this time.  But it's ok because I honest to goodness enjoy every bit and morsel of this little boy.

I seriously die every time he just looks into my eyes.

Rocco, I want you to know that you can do anything you set your mind to.
I support and love you, unconditionally. Forever. Love, Mom

Fall time and a little bitty clown

Ok, before it gets too late I better post our lovely little Halloween and Fall photos of our little Rocco.  I have way too much fun with this boy.  He melts my heart. Even right now as I am trying to post this, squirming and whining to get up, pulling the baby hairs at the back of my neck, scratching at my face, YEP, it's love. ;)

I had to do it, I saw it on Pinterest, and thought why not??

I just can't get enough of him and the pumpkin.  I think they turned out fabulously well.

Ok, now on to Halloween...

Trick or Treat, Smell my adorable big feet!

I just love the look on his face here.

Can I just tell you how hard it is to put lipstick on an almost 6 month old.
My husband told me he looked like a cheap hooker.
My poor child.
You think he will ever forgive me later on in life?
